Pokemon GO’s latest Community Day is here and this time, it features Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Linoone and Obstagoon, which gets a special Community Day move, Obstruct.
To get the move, players will need to evolve a Galarian Linoone into an Obstagoon during the three-hour Community Day window. This is between 11 am and 2 pm on Saturday, August 13.
But does Obstruct make Obstagoon good in Pokemon GO? Let’s take a look at that and what the Pokemon’s best moveset is now.
Is Obstagoon Good In Pokemon GO?
Obstagoon has always been there or thereabouts in the GO Battle League PVP meta but does its new move shake that up?
According to PVPoke Obstagoon is now the 29th best pick in the Pokemon GO Great League (up from 120th). It wins some key battles against the likes of Trevenant, Sableye, Galarian Stunfisk, Walrein and Swampert, all of which are very prevalent opposition in the league.
The Ultra League is where Obstagoon will have its most use, coming in at an impressive 6th place. It continues to pick up wins against Galarian Stunfisk, Walrein, Trevenant and Swampert, while adding the likes of Giratina and Cresselia to its win list.
Obstagoon has a tougher time in the Master League given that it’s littered with Legendary Pokemon, however, still comes in at a respectable 94th place. Along the way, it can help you beat Giratina (which is the highest ranking Pokemon), Mewtwo, Metagross and Dialga.
Overall, it’s safe to say that with its new moveset, Obstagoon will be a good pick in Pokemon GO’s PVP mode.
What’s its best moveset?
Taking into account August’s Pokemon GO Community Day, this is Obstagoon’s best moveset:
- Fast Move – Counter
- Charged Move – Night Slash
- Charged Move – Obstruct
